Suche glass fasade detail Hello all and sorry for posting in English. I need a detail for the upper edge - attic - of a glass curtain wall, in which the back part of the fassade is made from glass as well. Thank you all, Dan |
AW: Suche glass fasade detail Dan, do you have any conceptual sketch to post here? |

AW: Suche glass fasade detail The back made from glass is not a top priority. What i need is that no concrete elevation is to made on the upper part of the facade. I would prefer the curtain wall to self support it. I think that can be made also a steel profile back structure, but only if it is the only way. Thank you, Dan |

I see two solutions: A) The slab has a stopper for horizontal insulations, for the vertical attic is used only the curtain wall sistem with back facing panel. The problem is the where do you fasten the waterproof membrane? B) The slab has above a metalic structure for the attic, backing the curtain wall. The wp membrane is fixed on the metalic profiles, but it's more complicated structure. Tell me what do you think. |
AW: Suche glass fasade detail Hmm, do you really need an attic of that height? If not, just cut off the curtain wall so that it matches the top of your angle profile (variant A). That's exactly where the water proofing may end (in Germany, you have to go 15 cm above the general water proofing level). Is the front sandwich panel an asset in the building's elevation? If not, omit the panel by raising the glazing to the top of the lowered attic. |
